The host and grower of Ruby has begun to get the room in order. She has done a lot of research and talks to her friends on the vegan mothers facebook group. She is getting the room in order. She is nesting. It's a beautiful thing to get a room ready for a life that hopes to come out of her in February. I almost wrote a new life, but she's been wiggling around and getting our projections for quite a while now. I ask Momma how Ruby is doing and she answers me easily. Mostly it's about movement. She gets nervous if she doesn't move a lot, and she is tried if she moves too much in her sleep. There are so many things I could have written in here along the way. Your Momma bought a mirror so she could see you in the car. Andres said, "you got a mirror for her?" Momma said, "No, I got a mirror for me." Your Momma thinks about the child rearing consequences, creating patterns and expectations in life that are realistic. She has a restless mastermind that is planning for every eventuality. Your Momma is very excited. Your father is too.

Columbus Day thoughts 2015
I was calling her Gilda after watching Rigoletto. I was trying out Whoopie the other day. Ruby seems to be sticking with Cori.
Cori thinks she's yanking on the umbilical chord with her grasping hand. Where is it attached? Cori thought it was to her belly button.
I can't help but visualize her after the sonogram. I'm talking to her in the belly. Supposedly she can see light.
Her brother Andres has a new soccer team, and he had a tournament. We were wondering if Ruby will like soccer. Cori always comes back to the name Ruby. William talks a lot about what life will be like with Ruby. He has the fear I won't pay attention to him. We spent all day yesterday watching Andres play soccer, and then we went to a Cosmos game, so I think he feels that already with Andres getting into sports. I've got to work hard to get into Minecraft. He talked about the time I was working to try and make a Buddha statue, I need to go on line and try that some more. I take walks with William to make up the time I spend playing soccer with Andres but it doesn't always work out.
I really hope Ruby is active and likes sports like her mother.
We did a Buddhist puja this morning. The devotional chanting of the TBC community. The boys go to Sunday school and learn about Catholicism. I teach them about Buddhism and they have meditated with me. Blended families can be confusing.
Cori is a vegan and she hasn't eaten animal products in several years. She wants to raise Ruby vegan. I'm sympathetic, but I struggle to be vegetarian. I really want to support this and move towards veganism. Imagine not harming any animals your whole life, how that would give you a clean conscious, how that would help the environment, how healthy that would be?! I'm very excited. Cori is an excellent cook, she made the most amazing food this morning.

Calling her Zelda today
I saw her nose, mouth, heart, hands, arms, legs and more at the 20 week sonogram. We're at about the halfway point in who I've been calling Zelda the past two days. Everyone like Olivia for a name. Anandi wants to honor her mother and call her Terri. Anandi can feel her in her stomach. I felt her wiggling around and saw her in the sonogram moving around.
I think sonogram is a wonderful thing. She's so alive and it's amazing that I've looked at her. They didn't get a good look at her heart, because of the way she was sitting, so Anandi has to go back in a couple of weeks. Amazing stuff.
Anandi sent me a link about postpartum planning.

There's someone in there.
Cori has felt flutter, and is not sure she's felt who we're calling Terri this weekend. I put my hand on her belly and felt something moving around.
Cori got a snoogle to help her sleep: Leachco Snoogle Chic Total Body Pillow (Jersey Knit - Heather Grey)
. I was going to take a picture she looked so cute, but she's in her underwear and that's not for public consumption.

Today is the half birthday of Sweet Pea inside Cori, she's at 4.5 months. She can hear things, so I'm trying to talk to her.

Baby on the way, we got past the first trimester
I didn't want to start a blog till Sweet Pea got past the first trimester when miscarriages happen the most. Around my birthday Sweet Pea was conceived. She is very much wanted. We don't have a name for her, but we confirmed that it was a her from the Harmony Test that Cori took. (I have two boys from another mother.) But now I'm having a girl. My grandfather had Ginger when he was 50, so I'm following the family tradition of being a father late in life.
We went to Babies R Us today. Cori wants to use Seventh Generation products, for diapers and wipes. She likes Graco products. She didn't want to buy any food, she wants to do baby led weaning. Cori is vegan and she is having a vegan pregnancy. Cori is very into food and nutrition, and has a wonderful blog.
The domain poppy seed was taken so I added on sweet pea. Cori has been reading a lot about the baby's development, she's in vegan pregnancy groups on Facebook, and has groomed our wish list on Amazon.
We've been trying out a lot of names. Ruby was popular for a while. I'm trying out Olivia these days.
Here are the first pictures of her:
